The
Wall St. Journal published an article about a scientific breakthrough that will allow disabled
people to “write” with their eyes. Notice, he has them writing in cursive, not
print. I’m guessing because it’s easier to keep the flow going.
This blog is sponsored by the Southern California Chapter of the American Handwriting Analysis Foundation (AHAF). Our Main Objective is to raise awareness among educators and legislators of the importance of mastering cursive handwriting for the physical and emotional benefits in the development of the child. Our End Goal: Develop outreach programs to educators and legislators and lobby for retention/reestablishment of teaching cursive in the classrooms.
Here's the actual reason they did it that way (I'm directly quoting a news-article that interviewed the doctor) — "Cursive writing is continuous, curved, and smooth, just as pursuit eye movements are, so [these] eye movements should be suitable for this activity.” — http://bodyodd.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/06/13109323-unable-to-speak-a-few-can-now-write-with-their-eyes?lite
